Inflammatory bowel disease is what I am sure my mom suffered from even though the medical doctors continued to blunder their way through any real diagnosis. It is a serious and sometimes fatal disease, especially in the infirm and elderly. I was happy to read of progress in this area.
Feb 10 (Reuters) - Clinical stage biopharmaceutical company Athersys Inc (ATHX.O) said it has been granted two U.S. patents that cover its proprietary MultiStem technology, an investigational stem cell therapy, sending its shares up 32 percent in pre-market trade.
The company said the issued patents cover its technology which is used to treat diseases and indications, including heart attack, inflammatory bowel disease.
