Matrix for Stem Cell implant in knees

Just saw my Orthopod. He won't do both knees at once because of heart risk. The right one does not need it, there is still cartledge. A friend of his just invested $200 million dollars in developing a matrix. The stem cells from your hip are implanted in the maxtrx and the plug inserted into your knee to grow the present cartlidge. He said he has a meeting next week on this. He also said that studies show that doing it with this matrix multiplies the cells much faster and to the environment for the type of cells needed. Hopefully, before the time my right knee needs it that will be available here.:)

He also said that what has been known as the ""custom fit knee" has been pulled off the market by the FDA because of alignment problems after surgery. So, I guess waiting was a good thing for me.

Jane - Thanks for this information. I think that the matrix he speaks of would be useful for all different conditions. Please keep us informed.
