Esophageal Cancer (adenocarcinoma)

Hi,

Just got back from the Surgeon.
I have adenocarcinoma (esophageal cancer)
It has not spread anywhere and it is not related to my previous breast cancer. The Surgeon is not sure yet but thinks it is a T3 and the treatment would be 4 weeks of radiation and chemo combined, then a recovery time of about 3 or 4 weeks followed by surgery.
The surgery is major. They would remove most of my esophagus and part of my stomach and make a new esophagus out of my stomach. I would be in the hospital for about 10 to 14 days and then about 3 months to recover.
If further tests show that it is a T1 or T2 then I could go right to surgery and skip the chemo/radiation.
My first test is on Oct 29th for an esophagogastroscopy.
