I hope they got the news out in time. I just learned of this today.

The GTA's Chinese community is being asked to sign up today to a national registry of potential donors of stem cells. It is the first-ever national Chinese stem-cell drive and is taking place in Toronto and Vancouver, the cities home to Canada's largest Chinese populations. People aged 17 to 50 are encouraged to register as potential donors by providing an oral tissue sample with cotton swab sticks The stem cell registry is used to try to help patients who need a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. Right now, there?s a huge shortage of Chinese people in this network despite the fact that Chinese make up the 3rd largest ethnic group in Canada, only behind the English and French.
