NB, age 8, Pediatric TBI case. NM is an 8 year old boy with severe TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) treated on 4-27-09 with programmed-targeted bone marrow derived precursor cells in Mexico. The boy's father and mother reported that the lad began showing motor and neurologic improvements during the first 12 hours following the procedure. In fact, since the injury that devastated his brain at age 2 and one-half (A 36" TV set fell on his head), NB has failed to turn his head in the direction of anyone speaking to him. He is doing so now!

5-2-09 update on NB: The boy is moving his right arm all about, and holding it up in the air for thirty (30) seconds at a time (Something he could not do prior to his treatment). He is also making chewing motions with his mouth, something he has not done since before the tragic accident that left him brain-damaged. In addition, his oxygen saturation rates went from an average of 92% to 98% and are holding steady.

On 5-15-09 NI?s Dr. Payne check in with NB?s father to see how things were going with respect to his son, NB. Mr. CB shared the following observations:

* NB is squealing and making other sounds he has not made since the accident that damaged his brain.
* NB?s attending nurses have noted that he is more aware and purposeful in terms of his responses and actions than was true before his stem cell treatment.
* NB is more sensitive to touch than ever before, especially to being tickled.
* NB heart rate prior to his treatment reached a high only in the 70 beats-per-minute (bpm) range, even when he was stimulated or excited. Now his heart rate or bpm registers between 100-120 when he is stimulated or excited.
* NB?s oxygen saturation rate is holding firm in the upper 90s (Before his treatment he never went above 92%)
* Prior to his stem cell treatment, NB had recurrent respiratory infections. Since his treatment he has had no infections.
* Prior to his stem cell treatment, NB?s platelet level was consistently below normal. Since his treatment his platelet count has been normal.
* Prior to his treatment, NB had mucus production in his lungs and throat so bad that he had to be suctioned often. Since his treatment he has had to be suctioned very rarely.

CB, age 52, Degenerative Disc Disease case. NB's father, CB, a former Army officer who flew helicopters in Korea in the late 1970s, was treated at the same time as his son for crippling degenerative disc disease. This gentleman has what Nepsis patient educator-liaison person Dr. Payne calls a "bionic spine" -- titanium rods and pins. In fact, he has pain so severe that he "lives on" methadone 7/7 and achieves only "50% pain relief" at that. Since his treatment, CB reports the pain in his upper back is virtually gone and that in his lower back is noticeably diminished.

5-2 update on CB: Improvements holding and pain greatly diminished.
