Stem Cell Pioneer extraordinaire Ted Harada loses his battle

Ted was a very, very special person. May he rest in peace knowing he left the world a better place.


George Francis (Ted) Harada, Jr., age 44 of McDonough passed away Monday, October 17, 2016. He was born to George Francis and Stella Shockley Harada, Sr. Ted was behind the scene for families, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, Catholic gentleman and friend to many. He never met a stranger. He battled for 6 years with ALS, and served as a member on the GA ALS Board and the National ALS Board. Ted was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and worked with the Homeless Ministries. He loved cooking anything and everything on his Big Green Egg. He enjoyed the mountains, and spending time with his family at the beach. He was a member of St. James The Apostle Catholic Church, in McDonough, GA. Ted is survived by his wife, Michelle Julia Harada; children, Theodore Joseph Harada, Jordan Michelle Harada, Ashleigh Elizabeth Harada; parents, George and Stella Harada, Sr., all of McDonough, GA; father, Fereydoun Azadi, of CA; siblings, Jonathan M. (Nicole) Harada, of Emmaus, PA, Sara Azadi, Lily Azadi, Iris Azadi, all of CA; nieces and nephews, James Harada, Charles Harada, Valentina Azadi, Violet Azadi. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church with Father Liam officiating. Rosary will be held at 10:30 AM prior to the Funeral Mass. Private interment will be at Honey Creek Woodland in Conyers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association of GA, Tread for Ted,
