PowerLung Authorized Dealer

I am very pleased to announce that the PowerLung company has granted us permission to be an authorized dealer of the PowerLung.

http://www.seachangeforlife.com/Power_Lung_p/j9pb8nfc.htm

We offer the AireStream which is the light resistance model directly on our SeaChange site (see link above). We can also have all other models made by PowerLung drop shipped from the manufacturer. You can send us an e-mail at seachangeforlife@gmail.com if you wish to order one of the other models. The PowerLung comes with a carrying case, guide booklet and DVD instructions. I can't say enough good things about the PowerLung. For those of you who have been listening (through my printed words) to me drone on about doing lung exercises you will know that I have felt this way long before we were allowed to become a dealer. My stem cell doctor recommends the use of it and it has helped me tremendously. It isn't just for lung patients, but for anyone wishing to strengthen their lungs and keep them healthy. The device works. That's all there is to it.

Hi Barbra,
Congratulations on your new venture. Will you be selling the cleaner also?
I need to order some so let me know.

Thanks,
Ross

PowerLung cleaner

We can sell the cleaner if there seems to be a demand for it. I will ask the PowerLung company if I can order a small amount for our forum. We can give a discount to our members so it would be nice. We aren't going to get our forum fund overflowing with this venture and Jeannine and I won't be able to fly off to Rio yet, but it is a convenience for those that want to purchase the PowerLung. It is such a great device that I wish I could send one to every forum member. I will get back to you hopefully today with an answer Ross. You must have gotten yours repaired if you are needing more cleaner. That means you are doing your exercising. Great!

All goes in one and out the other

I have read somthing about this along time ago,and postted on CI not to do it,As you cant ajust the resistence like you can on the powerlung or similar devices.
Barbara,you know,
On that site there are people who think they know better even if its in black and white. You can take the horse to the water,BUT.
I am not trying to advertise for any of the devices,Had mine 4yrs ,long before it was advertised on Pioneers.
Maybe they will take not now,I wonder?.
This is the post
While one would expect such useful hints to be without hazard, a chest specialist strikes a cautionary note about the recommendation, recently featured in this column, for those with chronic lung problems that they should practise blowing up balloons. Done regularly, this manoeuvre strengthens the respiratory muscles, thus improving the breathing.

This may be so, but the hazard with severe emphysema is that the pressures generated by the manoeuvre can "pop" one of the enlarged air sacs in the lungs with adverse effects.

I have also questioned the wisdom of balloons because it only strngthens the expriatory muscles whereas the PowerLung strengthens both inspiratory as well as expiratory muscles. I really love my PowerLung and use it twice a day.

On one COPD board I even saw a respiratory therapist recommended taking the straws and stirrers from fast food restaurants and using them. I can't imagine what good that would do.

Power Lung Order

Barbara,
I have ordered from this site the Power Lung for my husband; however, there was no where in the order to state which model I need for him. He has advanced COPD.
Thanks,
Jane

Power Lung

Barbara.
Thanks for your help. My husband recieved his Power Lung today and is so excited about using it. We watched the video and he read the instructions. I think it easier to use than previous gadgets he has had. I think he is really going to use this one. Thanks you again for your good work.

I sure hope he finds it as helpful as many of us do on this forum. Just tell him to go at his own pace and he will be surprised how fast he is able to progress. I use it instead of Albuterol in many instances. A good workout on the PowerLung seems to do the trick. It was invented by a cardiac patient, Mike Jarvis, who is now a member of the Pioneer forum.
