D?sseldorf, Germany - The first long-term results of autologous bone-marrow-cell transplantation in patients with acute MI show that the procedure is safe and offers a small improvement in cardiac function [1]. Dr Muhammad Yousef (Heinrich-Heine-University of D?sseldorf, Germany) and colleagues publish the five-year findings from the BALANCE study online June 9, 2009 in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
