Howdy Y'all, Yep I'm from Texas. I am so glad i found y'all. I have been reading the forum non stop for the last couple of weeks and ready to get moving. I have spent so much time on my computer the last few weeks and I am on overload and a bit overwhelmed. The one thing I am sure of is that I will have treatment soon. My pulmonary specialist poo pooed the idea but he poo poo's everything I do (and I do a lot) and then he can't figure out why I do better than his other patients. Well Duh??? The same old how are you doing? are you ready to revisit transplant? see you in 4 months. I plan on seeing my Primary Physician in a week or two and getting her on the stem cell boat with me. She is a DO with a holistic approach and I feel sure she will support me in this decision. She has helped me more than any of the 3 Pulmonary Dr.s I have been to. I have joined ICMS and will have her do the same. I have signed the petition for Daxas and have listed both on my facebook page and have recruited several others to do the same. I just want to get better and I believe I can. I am so excited to have found you and your forum. Finally I feel like I am not alone in my decision to not rush into a transplant. Having them rip my lungs out and spending the rest of my life pumped up on drugs just does not appeal to me. I know several who have gone that way and several on the list that can't wait to get their new lungs and I support them if that is what they want but I just can't commit to that until I have exhausted every other option. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and learning and sharing more. Barbara and Jeannie you are truly angels for all y'all do. Thank you so much, Connie

Welcome Connie! My husband has COPD, and he is planning on getting stem cell therapy this summer. Right now, we are doing the same thing you are - reading every thing we can and trying to learn as much as possible. This forum has been immensely helpful! - Lisa

Thanks Tami and Lisa for the welcome. It appears that the research and decission will be harder than the treatment. Do we get a diploma when we complete our research? Hopefully the reward will be in the improvement we get from the treatment we choose.
Big Love, Connie

Connie I think our research is on going and going. We are like the Energizer bunny we never stop. I have been at since 09/07 for my daughter Ava Grace.
