How is Cord Blood different from Normal Blood

I have this question. Often people are infused intravenously with blood units of same group in cases of injuries and blood loss, caused in accidents. Nobody checks the HLA before infusion, they only take care about the same blood group, and their bodies never rejects the blood of same group. So, why is it that cord blood cannot be infused of same blood group irrespective of HLA, and why is that there seems any danger of body rejecting the cord blood of same blood group.
