Grant money could speed stem cell cures
State money from 2004's Proposition 71 is being channeled toward research with the most potential for near-term benefits.

Jeannine's note: The headline sounds hopeful doesn't it? I was upset by the article so I sent the following email to the author:

They plan to take a decade to get a trial to the FDA? Good grief - talk about milking the system for funding.

Why not concentrate on the diseases that kill the most Americans such as cancers, heart disease and COPD. If you look at the statistics it?s plain to see that the diseases they're concentrating on aren't even in the top ten as causes of death.

If I were you I would expose this milking of the money for their pet projects for the next decade while they ignore the ones people are dying from. Dr Aboody is the only one who seems to get it.

A decade before FDA approval for clinical trials? What a joke!
