Posted by Kevinp in another forum, but it sounds like a great event, so it also belongs in the Spotlight section. Thanks Kevinp.

I would like to draw everyone's attention to an event being held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that is important to those interested in accelerating the development of stem cell therapies. It is planned that the event will be streamed FREE out onto the internet.

If you could spread the word FAR AND WIDE about the event it would be incredibly helpful in showing "the powers that be" that the WORLD is interested in these therapies and are waking up to their potential. Please read below and if you are interested in viewing the event online, please register your desire to do so. We're not sure if we are going to require registration yet, but it would help us know how much money we're going to need to pay the company that is streaming it.

Event Title: ?Stem Cell Therapies: from lab to bedside?

Description:
?A free public forum sponsored by the major Albertan institutions and communities involved and interested in the development of stem cell therapies as cures and treatments for degenerative disease. The forum is designed to engage the public in a discussion to demystify stem cell therapies, their development, and application. The goal is to increase public awareness of the potential for stem cell therapies focusing on the hurdles new discoveries in the lab must overcome before they make it to clinical use with the hope that further discussion will lead to Alberta becoming a center for access to these therapies. The evening consists of a presentation by Manning Award winner Dr. Robert Burrell on the development of stem cell technologies followed by question and answer sessions with an expert and patient-focused panel on topics surrounding stem cells, closing the evening with questions from the audience. The Edmonton event will be streamed live onto the internet and available for download afterwards.?

When: November 26th, 2009, 7:00 ? 9:30 PM MST
