Local Stem Cell Injection

Local Stem Cell Injection is a physician-supervised procedure in which a carefully prepared cell-based product is administered directly into or around a medically assessed target area, such as a joint or surrounding soft tissue.

Unlike intravenous administration, the local approach is intended to concentrate the treatment at a specific site identified through the patient's symptoms, physical examination and, when appropriate, diagnostic imaging.

The injection location, cell source, product type, quantity, administration technique and aftercare plan must be determined individually by a qualified physician. Ultrasound or other imaging guidance may be used when clinically appropriate to improve placement accuracy.

Local stem cell injection should not be presented as a guaranteed method of regenerating cartilage, repairing damaged tissue or curing a joint condition. It may only be considered as one part of a broader care plan that can also include rehabilitation, exercise modification, weight management and standard medical treatment.

Suitability depends on the cause, severity and stability of the condition. Treatment may not be appropriate for individuals with an active infection, infection near the proposed injection site, uncontrolled bleeding or clotting conditions, pregnancy, unstable medical conditions or other contraindications identified during assessment.

Patients taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication must inform the physician and should not stop prescribed medication without medical advice.
